Modern English Melts to Echo

Modern English melts at the Echo: British New Wave veterans celebrate the 40th anniversary of the famous After the snow album, which included the beloved single “I Melt With You”, with a US tour that passes through the Echoplex. Hollow Lies and Warsaw Pact also play.

The show was originally scheduled for last year but was postponed for obvious reasons, with the band saying: “It is with immense regret that we have to cancel our tour playing the entirety of ‘After the Snow’ in live for the first time. The safety of the group, the teams and especially the fans must be our priority. We will be with you in 2022 and will reschedule as many concerts as possible. Stay safe and we’ll see you soon.

Well, that time has come.

A press release reads: “Known for the insanely massive song ‘I Melt With You’,’ Modern English goes around the WE This year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their breakthrough 1982 album After the snow (which includes “I Melt With You” and was featured in the classic 1983 film valley girl with a young Nicolas Cage). They are doing three separate stops this year here in the US and will of course be performing the album front-to-back on those stops (including other songs from the catalog).

Modern English melts at the Echo: The event takes place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 19 at Echoplex.
