English Works Program Graduation Ceremony at NUML
Islamabad: Graduation Ceremony of Six-Month Work English Program Held in
National University of Modern Languages (NUML) here.
NUML Director General Brigadier Syed Nadir Ali presided over the ceremony and US Embassy Public Affairs Minister Counselor Raymond Castillo graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The Country Head of the English Language Regional Office of the US Embassy in Pakistan, Dr. Kelli Odhuu, and Country Program Director Syed Rashid Naqvi also attended the ceremony.
NUML Pro-Rector (Academics) and Works English Program Instruction Director, Professor Muhammad Safeer Awan welcomed the guests and gave an overview of the program.
The English Works program began in October 2021 with the aim of honing the communication and presentation skills of 100 students, based on critical thinking and an aptitude for intercultural competence and respect for international human rights values. rights, civil liberties, integration and inclusion of marginalized people. communities.
A specialized two-week Tech Camp was also held where experts like Tech-Guru Hisham Sarwar and many others exposed these 100 students to 21st century trends in self-employment, online businesses and of entrepreneurship.
Dr. Safeer Awan particularly focused on the initiative of these 100 students where they invited 35 other students from different marginalized communities in Pakistan like Hindus, Christians and Sikhs for a 4 day training to transfer to their peers what they have learned during their six months with the English Works program. The training was planned, organized and delivered entirely by English Works students and proved to be a success.
NUML Director General Brigadir Syed Nadir Ali presented certificates of completion to English Works teachers and students.
